We currently have openings for experienced Accountants.

Job Description:
The Accountant deals with financial issues of normal complexity to support business processes. This position will develop an expanded understanding of Caterpillar’s business and accounting practices, systems and procedures; apply accounting knowledge; as well as participate on and lead teams.
The incumbent will be exposed to a variety of accounting functions and will perform a broad range of analysis work. The Accountant will generate reports and provide related commentary. The Accountant will review and validate relevant data and data sources, analyze information and provide feedback. Incumbent works on challenging, low to medium risk issues and makes decisions and recommendations as appropriate. An accounting supervisor primarily through review of progress and results will direct work.
Possible areas of responsibility are varied and of medium complexity including:
Financial accounting, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, and consolidations
Internal management accounting, including profit center reporting and budgeting and margin analysis
Coordination of purchased services and transfer prices
Development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures
Interacts with multiple functional areas and levels of authority. The Accountant is capable of handling complex accounting issues such as inventory valuation, inter-company transactions, sales and cost of sales reporting, and resolving financial reporting problems. The Accountant will demonstrate knowledge and ability to independently handle accounting issues.

Qualifications Include the Following:
Minimum of a Bachelor`s degree in Accounting, or an equivalent degree with at least 18 college units in Accounting is required.
Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale required.
Minimum Accounting GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale required.
Must be able to provide a copy of college transcript(s) (an unofficial copy is sufficient).
At least 3 year of work experience in accounting is required, with a variety of experiences in areas such as – GAAP requirements, SOX, reconciliations, inventory, and revenue recognition and investment analysis.
Experience with Hyperion, Essbase, and/or Baan software is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Must be able to take initiative and possess strong leadership ability.
Must have organization and planning expertise, analytical and problem solving skills, and be computer literate.
