I am exploring a possible career change and think forensic accounting would be interesting. What additional education or training would I need? I am currently located in CT.
What I mean to say is do I need to have a lawyer help me plan my estate? Couldn’t an accountant do the same job ie. writing up a will, handling money, assets, investments, and so on?
Do you have to have a lawyer do it, or can a cpa do it to?
I am two years away from a Master’s degree in accounting. I was interested in joining the air force once my degree is completed. What should I expect as far as initial officer training? How does that differ from enlisted training? Any other information would be helpful.
How much would an internship with a big 4 accounting firm help me if i want to get into investment banking?
I work for a great company with pretty decent salary for Florida as a staff accountant in accounts payable. I am making currently $35,000. The benefits are ok, insurance is offered based on a flex pay and you must be there 2 years for the company to pay for their share of the insurance. Vacation is taken within the first 6 months of employment. No year required. They offer tuition reimbursement at 1 year of $3,000 per year cap, and have 10 major holidays like the state does.
Now, there is an opportunity for me to work as an accountant reporting to the controller, but basically managing several different entities and producing financials, for 5 different companies. I have no degree, but at $45,000 (they are offering), that is not bad at all. I have heard alot of people here with degrees only make $10-15K more. I have associates but no bachelors.
The job offers autonomy, some growth, insurance and 100% paid by company, vacation after a year. Would you leave if offered the job??
going to college soon, and i want to know if i get a bachelors degree in business administration would i be able to get a job as an accountant. i know i could just major in accounting, but i would like more oppurtunities.
I live in Philadelphia and want to get an internship with a good company that will 1) give me great job experience, 2) possibly give me a decent paying job, and 3) give me experience in the multiple fields in an accounting career. I would stay in Philadelphia if possible. The internship needs to start in the summer of 2008.
I’m thinking of going to college for accounting, although I’m not exactly 100% confident it’s what I’d like to do for the rest of my life. Say two years down the road, after earning an associates, I have an epiphany and actually can’t stand accounting. I’m wondering what kind of jobs can you get with a mere associates in accounting? Also, is it likely the accounting credits can be used for a different business major?
I’m graduating in finance and an accounting CPA firm asked me to interview with them (small firm of about 60). I have only taken 12 hrs of accounting (2 beginner and 2 intermediate classes but they were a while ago and I only know the basics). Would I be able to cut it in an accounting position there? And also, what would I be doing? I ask this cus the interview is 3 days away and a 3 hour drive and want to make sure it is worth it and I actually know and like what I would be doing. Thanks.
How do I get an accounting job with no accounting experience?
